How the consultation works
1. We listen

We'll start by talking through your concerns in detail.

We'll discuss your dog's history, their everyday life, when the behaviour happens, what tends to trigger it and what you've already tried.

2. We observe

I'll look carefully at your dog's behaviour and body language, including the environment and circumstances in which the behaviour occurs.

Where useful, video can also help us understand situations that aren't always possible to observe during a consultation.

3. We understand

We'll explore what may be contributing to the behaviour and what your dog could be communicating through their responses.

Understanding comes before training.

4. We make a plan

You'll receive a personalised behaviour plan based on your dog's needs, your circumstances and what is realistically achievable for you.

This may include management strategies, environmental changes, training exercises and ways to help your dog feel safer and more confident.

5. We put it into practice

I'll coach you through the plan and help you understand how to apply it in everyday situations.

You won't simply be handed a list of instructions and left to figure it out yourself.

6. We review and adapt

Behaviour change takes time.

You'll have follow-up support so that you can ask questions, reflect on progress and make adjustments as your dog develops.

Every dog is different, so the support is tailored to you rather than following a one-size-fits-all programme.

A calm, force-free approach

I believe dogs learn best when they feel safe, understood and able to succeed.

I don't use fear, intimidation or punishment-based methods to force a dog into behaving differently.

Instead, we work to understand the underlying behaviour, manage difficult situations safely and teach your dog alternative ways to respond.

The goal isn't just a quieter or more obedient dog.

It's a dog who is better able to cope — and an owner who understands what their dog needs and feels confident helping them.
